Neo Africa official event partner for
international Superstars Series at
Kyalami
The
Gauteng Motorsport Company has announced
an agreement with Neo Africa for the
Johannesburg-based entrepreneurial group
of companies to be the official event
partner with Gauteng Province of the
international Superstars Series for V8
production cars that takes place at the
Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on December
12 and 13.
Neo
Africa’s philosophy focuses on
empowerment and it facilitates the
development and recruitment of
previously disadvantaged individuals.

forces with us to bring the Superstars
Series to South Africa for the first
time and provide South African motor
racing fans with top-class international
motor racing at the country’s premier
motor racing circuit,” said Stephen
Watson, CEO of Gauteng Motorsport
Company.
The 17
cars that will compete in the final
round of Superstars at Kyalami arrive at
OR Tambo International Airport on Friday
from Luxembourg on Friday (November
27). Included in the field are 10 BMWs
(three M3s, five M5s and two 550is), two
Audi Rs4s, a Jaguar XF SV8, a Mercedes
C63 AMG, a Chevrolet Lumina, a Chrysler
300C SRT-8 and a Maserati Quattroporte.
Two
cars, a Ferlito Motors Jaguar and an
Audi Sport Italia Audi RS4, have been
made available to South African drivers
who are able to raise the necessary
sponsorship.
The
Superstars Series race weekend programme
will include a free practice on Saturday
from 11h00 to 11h30 and qualifying from
15h00 to 15h30. There will be two
25-minute plus one lap races on Sunday
at 11h30 and 15h00. Also on the
programme are races for
Superkarts, Goldwagen Volkswagen
Challenge and Forza Ferrari Challenge.
A full programme of entertainment will
also include a DJ Festival at the
skidpan, a car sound competition run by
the International Auto Sound Challenge
Association at the Super Bowl, high
speed demonstrations of Neo Africa
Supercars and
Speed
and Sound drifting
demonstrations.
Parking will be available at Kyalami as
per national race meetings and while
spectators will be able to bring their
own food and drinks, no glass bottles or
braais will be allowed.
